    1) There were many accomplishments of the progressive movement including laws to protect people and their health, redistribution of wealth, and opening people’s minds and the government to new ideas and abandoning old traditions. However, there were many weaknesses to progressivism including war and material progress lessening the enthusiasm of progressive activists, progressive goals often contradicted each other, government remained under the control of big business, and as reforms failed opposition to progressivism grew. The Progressive Era was not a complete failure but not a complete success either. It was somewhere in the middle.
    2) The progressives helped Native Americans, Women, and African Americans gain rights and respect in American society. These minority groups were treated more equally due to the progressive movement

    1. Yes, i think that progressives for the most part met their goals. Progressivism was a great period in american history where many changes occurred and the voice of the public was heard over industry and big business. Many social reforms and even political reforms where made during this time. I also think one of the most important goals met was trustbusting and the elimination of big boss' and such. Break the powerful trusts and monopolies was a key factor in progressivism and accomplishing its goals.

    2. Progressives gave Native Americans, African Americans and Women rights. Such as voting and making them equal with the rest of society. This was also a key step towards desegregation.

Progressivism was based on social reform. Progressives are characterized by the middle class and it was where white American men and women shared their concerns about threats in society. Progressive reforms/goals were improving labor protection, health care services, urban living, and environmental protection. They also wanted workplace compensation, minimum wage laws, transforming the taxation system, and reduction of corruption and increase popular participation in government. The Progressives were soon able to make government enact legislative protections in the areas they reformed. The progressives mainly accomplished all of their goals. They helped Native Americans because they instituted the Oregon System. They helped African Americans because Washington and DuBois were Progressives who urged blacks to assert themselves with whites economically and politically. Progressives helped women because they supported the temperance movement in which women were also supporting,
